PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) First responders were called out Monday night to the report of a one vehicle accident east of Pierre.  Hughes County Sheriff Mike Leidholt says the accident was reported about eight miles east of Pierreon Highway 14-at about 6:10 p.m. Monday.  Leidholt says the driver of the 2011 Dodge pickup had a medical event that caused his vehicle to cross over both lanes of traffic and to enter the south ditch.  The vehicle spun around in a circle and then clipped an electrical pole.  There was no damage to the pole, however the vehicle became stuck.  Both rear tires and the right rear of the pickup’s club cab were damaged.  Leidholt does not have a damage estimate for the vehicle.  The motorist, Jeffrey Friman, initially declined medical attention, but then agreed to be checked by ambulance personnel.  He was transported from the scene by a friend.

Jeff Friman shouldn’t even be driving with a history of seizures. He could have killed someone.
