PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A total of $358,310 in Land and Water Conservation Fund money has been awarded to several communities in South Dakota. The federal assistance program offers up to 50 percent reimbursement for outdoor recreational projects. Governor Dennis Daugaard says in a press release that LWCF grants were provided to eleven different communities. Gettysburg is receiving $20,000 for improvements to its Little Angels Playground. Pierre will get $24,000 for the Fourth Street Park playground and shelter. Land and Water Conservation Funds are provided through the National Park Service and are given out in South Dakota by the Game, Fish and Parks Department.
