PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The Pierre Police Department and other local law agencies are planning Alcohol Compliance Checks at various businesses in the coming weeks. Police Captain Elton Blemaster says sometime this month, law officers from the Pierre P.D., and Hughes and Stanley County Sheriff’s Offices will be conducting the checks in both Pierre and Fort Pierre. Blemaster says the checks will also extend into both Hughes and Stanley Counties. The Alcohol Compliance Checks are used to verify that local businesses that offer alcohol are not selling the beverages to anyone under the age of 21.
