PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Secretary of State Jason Gant says he expects that the voter turnout numbers for today’s General Election will total about seventy percent. Gant says his office has noted that the number of people that are visiting the Secretary of State’s website has seen an uptick in the days leading toward today’s election.
Gant reminds registered South Dakotans who have not already early voted to get out and visit their polling place today.
Gant says voters who show up at the polls should make sure they have a photo ID with them.
Again, those who have questions about their polling place can visit the South Dakota Voter Information Portal at www.sdsos.gov or contact your county auditor’s office. The website will also offer results as ballots are counted this evening. Polls are open until seven p.m. local time tonight.
River Cities Public Transit will be offering free rides to polling places today. People that need a ride to and from their election site can call the transit dispatch at 945-2360.
