SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Candidates gracing the South Dakota ballot are taking to the social networking site Twitter to get people pumped up for the polls.
Republican Rep. Kristi Noem is among the most prolific Monday, posting web links for polling locations and photos of her working the phones. Her challenger, Democrat Matt Varilek, on Sunday posted an interview he’d done with La Voz Hispana, in which he speaks some Spanish as he addresses Hispanic voters.
Public Utilities Commission candidate Matt McGovern, a Democrat, used the site to update followers about his campaign stops, while incumbent Republican Kristie Fiegen declares herself a “proven fighter” through her feed.
