PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Local Boy Scouts have been delivering Scouting for Food bags on doors around Pierre and Fort Pierre in recent days as they work on an annual drive to collect non-perishable goods for the local food bank. Scout leaders remind local citizens that if for some reason, a bag was not delivered to your home or apartment-that any plastic bag can be used to place items in for retrieval by the scouts. Boy Scouts will go around picking up filled food bags on Saturday. If a residence is missed for pickup, people can bring their donation to the Food Pantry at the Boys and Girls Club on Ree Street in Pierre. Last year, over 75,000 pounds of food was collected throughout the Sioux council’s 61-county service area.
