GETTYSBURG, S.D. – (DRG News) A Pine Ridge man was cited yesterday after an accident that occurred west of Gettysburg. Potter County Sheriff Curt Hamburger says the mishap was reported about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the junction of Highways 212 and 1804. He says a truck that was hauling water made a turn onto Highway 1804 and the load shifted-tipping the truck over. The truck is owned by a construction company from Rapid City that is using the water on a central SD bridge project. Some of the water in the tanker spilled in the accident and more was let out while the truck was being up righted. Hamburger says the truck was carrying about 4,000 gallons of water. The driver was cited for having a suspended driver’s license. He was injured in the accident and was transported to the Gettysburg Medical Center. Agencies responding to the afternoon accident included the Potter County Sheriff, Gettysburg Fire Department and Gettysburg Ambulance.
