Tree Trimming in Fort Pierre Must be Complete by Today

Fall Trees

FORT PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The City of Fort Pierre reminds people that today is the last day they have to trim trees on their property if they received a notice indicating that the work should be done. City officials say that if Fort Pierre residents received a notice about trimming their trees, it must be done by the end of the day today. Trees must be eight feet above the surface of sidewalks and ten feet over the streets and alleyways. Trees must also be trimmed so that trunks, limbs or branches do not come in contact with street lighting or power lines. If trimming is not completed after today, it will be done by the city and charges will be billed to the landowner. Those that have questions about the tree limb rules can contact the City of Fort Pierre at 223-7690.
