PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Pierre man pled not guilty to a handful of counts resulting from a fight that occurred in Pierre earlier this month. Hughes County Deputy States Attorney Wendy Kloeppner says that 29-year-old Angel Gomez was indicted on two counts of Simple Assault, two counts of “Sliming” and one count of Resisting Arrest. He was also charged with Intentional Damage to Private Property-which is a Class 2 Misdemeanor. Gomez was arrested on September 1 after officers were dispatched to a fight in downtown Pierre. One person sustained minor injuries in the skirmish. Gomez will next appear in court on November 15.
