Eagle Butte Man Facing Charges After Single Vehicle Accident Involving Stolen Pickup

Cracked Windshield

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) An Eagle Butte man is hospitalized and faces charges after a rollover occurred yesterday involving a stolen vehicle. Hughes County Sheriff Mike Leidholt says the accident was reported about seven miles east of Pierre on Highway 34 last night about 11:10 p.m. He says an investigation shows that the pickup went into the south shoulder of the roadway, the driver overcorrected and the pickup slid across the highway and entered the north ditch of the road-rolling multiple times. The driver, 18-year-old Judson Two Dogs, was ejected and he was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Healthcare Center for treatment of back and head injuries. Leidholt says Two Dogs has not been arrested yet, but will face charges of Grand Theft and No Drivers License when he is discharged from the hospital. The stolen 1997 Chevrolet pickup received extensive damage in the rollover accident. The vehicle had been stolen from a location on South Pierce Avenue.
