MISSION, S.D. – (DRG News) More than 1,000 people attended the first Tanks of Thanks community celebration yesterday in Mission-to honor the Country Pride Cooperative and the Mission Cenex store for all that it does for the community. Each year, the Country Pride Co-op and Mission Cenex store host a community dinner-offering holiday meals for customers and less fortunate community members. CHS set up yesterday’s Tanks of Thanks community celebration in Mission as a way to thank the business for its contributions to the community. There was free food, music and activities for attendees of all ages. Children got to enjoy water slides and treats like snow cones, while families and friends had their pictures taken in a photo booth. There were also several prizes given out during the event-including $50 Tanks of Thanks gift cards good for free fuel from Cenex. Throughout the year, the Tanks of Thanks program, offered by Cenex-has been rewarding individuals who do good deeds for their community with free fuel, plus Cenex retailers that go above and beyond to make their communities better are also honored.
