Construction Activities Continue on Various Pierre City Streets This Week

Construction Barricade

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Construction work continues on streets in the Pierre area this week. Lynn Patton, Construction and Operations Manager for the City of Pierre says that drivers should note that the west side parking lane on Pierre Street between Sioux Avenue and the railroad overpass will be closed at least through Friday and no parking is being allowed. The lane closure is in place for work being done on the federal building. Pedestrian traffic is being allowed in that area and people will be able to access both the federal offices and the post office.
Patton also says the one block section of Buffalo Street will be closed between Buchanan and Johnson Avenues starting today for storm sewer repairs. The work will take up to three days if there are no unanticipated interruptions. Workers will attempt to create accesses to local driveways at the end of each day for residents and for emergency vehicles.
Those that have questions on the projects can contact Patton at 773-2298.
