PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Work that has been underway on the Federal Building in Pierre will again impact traffic starting next week. The South Dakota Department of Transportation says the building’s canopy will be the focus of construction workers starting next Tuesday. The Pierre Street parking lane next to the federal building will be closed through the end of September. During the project, drivers might also run into intermittent lane closures on Sioux Avenue on the south side of the federal building. The DOT says pedestrian traffic on sidewalks around the building will remain open during construction. They advise motorists that they should watch for lane closures and changing traffic patterns while the work is being completed.
