SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Sanford Health brand will go further than the Sioux Falls Events Center after a $20 million donation to the University of South Dakota.  According to a news release from the University of South Dakota, the Sanford Health-USD relationship will continue for another 20 years through a transformation of USD athletic facilities and support for faculty and student scholarships.  Sanford Health’s gift will be used to help build a 6,000-seat basketball and volleyball arena. The project serves as the cornerstone for a $70 million project to change the face of USD. In addition to the arena, the university plans to include a track & field and soccer complex, football and basketball practice facilities and DakotaDome renovations.  The donation is also expected to support scholarships, faculty and the University’s health services program.
