FORT PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Workers with the City of Fort Pierre will be marking trees this week which need to be trimmed to meet requirements. The trees that have low branches will be marked with orange tape. The city says trees must be trimmed to at least ten feet above the surface of the street, road or alley. Trees must also be trimmed so that no trunk, limb or branch comes in contact with any street lighting or power lines. City leaders are asking residents to complete trimming by August 20. The city will do the work on greenery that is marked and which is not trimmed by that date–and the land owner will be billed. If you have questions, contact the City of Fort Pierre at 223-7690.
