VIVIAN, S.D. – (DRG News) The Vivian Fire Department put out a baler fire on Friday morning, near the Lyman/Jones County border. Vivian Fire Chief Keith Patrick says the fire was reported on Friday morning about 11:15 a.m. in southwest Lyman County. He says a pasture was being baled when a bale popped out on fire. The hay bale burned mowed areas of grass and also totaled the baler. Patrick estimates that about 20 acres of grass were scorched in the fire.
