BRITTON, S.D. - Mobridge opened the District 2B amateur baseball tournament with a 6-5 victory over the Redfield Pheasants Tuesday night. The Cardinals led 4-3 before getting a two-run single in the eighth inning from Spencer Frank to increase the margin. Redfield scored single runs in the eighth and ninth but could not overtake Mobridge. Greg Heyne collected three hits and Colton Good Shield and Frank added two each to pace Mobridge. Good Shield and Andrew Overland also drove in runs for the Cardinals. Tyler Stenberg allowed 12 hits in picking up the win. Mobridge advances to face Redfield Dairy Queen tonight at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Britton Lumberjacks vs. the Northville Merchants at 8:30 p.m.
