PIERRE, S.D. – Countdown to Junior Jam highlighted the Saturday Racing card at Oahe Speedway North of Pierre on Saturday. Brooke Konst of Whitewood took first place in the Major Division Countdown race defeating Jordan Pratt of Otsego, Minnesota and Brandon Kleewien of North Platte, Nebraska. In the Minor Division Countdown race Riley Landner of Sidney, Montana defeated Becki Fuchs of Bowman, North Dakota in the finals. Madison Kleewein of North Platte, Neb. finished 3rd. In regular Shootout races on Saturday, Todd Herman of Presho finished ahead of Dan Mohr of Mitchell to win the Box Shootout race. The No Box Shootout race was won by Herman as well as he defeated Randy Hirsch of Pierre in the final elimination round. Pierre racers dominated the Trophy Shootout race with Shawn Englund defeating Kevin Carroll in the championship race. In the Oahe Speedway Quick 8 race, David Rae of Gillette, Wyoming won the championship defeating Rocky Gabel in the finals. And in the Junior Gamblers race, Levi Woodring of Holdrege, Nebraska won the championship defeating Randy Lander of Sidney, Montana in the finals. Todays races at Oahe Speedway include the 5th Coca Cola Points Series races of the season along with the National Dragster Challange and the Junior Jam Finals. Qualifying races are underway at 9 am. Oahe Speedway is located 14 miles north of Pierre along Highway 1804.
