RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush hope to continue their move toward a more physical roster with the return of defenseman Garrett Gruenke and the addition of forward Mike Sgroi both announced earlier this week. Gruenke returns for his second season with the Rush and fifth overall as a pro, all in the Central Hockey League. Gruenke joined the Rush midway through last season, signing a contract after rehabbing from a pair of offseason surgeries. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound defenseman picked up three assists and a plus-11 rating and 77 penalty minutes in 37 regular-season games. Sgroi spent last season with the Evansville IceMen, where he totaled nine points (five goals, four assists) and 103 penalty minutes in 51 games.
