PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Pierre’s Ellen Lee and Fort Pierre’s Shaun Leafgreen were lucky winners yesterday as part of the 2012 Harley Raffle that is held each summer to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area and Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce. Leafgreen was the winner of two round trip tickets to Denver or Minneapolis through the Early Bird drawing and Lee won the grand prize-a 2012 Harley 883 Super Low motorcycle. The motorcycle giveaway is sponsored by Petersen Harley Davidson and Ross Petersen who co-owns the business with his brother Russ Dulany, says the annual fundraiser and related picnic are always a great success.
Petersen says Petersen Harley Davidson has been involved in the event over the years, because the recipients of the funds are very deserving.
Petersen says there were 450 tickets in the raffle this year-an increase from the 400 available last year-and once again, they sold out. He says they will continue to be a part of the raffle as long as the community supports it.
Becky Bowers, Director of the Boys and Girls Club, says the club appreciates the support it receives from so many.
Bowers says the local club, which serves area youth, is seeing continued growth in programs offered and youngsters served.
A picnic for raffle ticket holders held before the giveaway yesterday was served by the Central SD HOG Club.
