Eagle Butte Man Sentenced for Stabbing

EAGLE BUTTE, S.D. – (DRG News) An Eagle Butte man was sentenced in federal court for his guilty plea to Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. 30-year-old Ervin Daniel Addison was given a sentence of 29 months in custody and two years of supervised release. He was originally indicted for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury by a federal Grand Jury. A year ago-on July 23-U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Cheyenne River Tribal Police responded to a stabbing. After an investigation, it was determined that Addison had stabbed the victim in the sternum. Following Monday’s sentencing hearing, Addison was turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal to begin serving his sentence.
