SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 13-14 Teener Black Sox baseball team won two games Wednesday with strong hitting and good pitching, defeating host Spearfish 11-6 and shutting out Gillette 10-0. Nate Zimmerman threw a five-inning no-hitter against Gillette in a contest that was ended two innings early under the 10-run mercy rule. Pierre controlled Gillette for all five innings. Max Reinke had a three-run homer and a double. Hunter Jockheck had two hits and scored two runs. Quinn Reimers was 2-for-3 with a double. Will Ellwanger delivered the game-ending hit. Jack Wollman pitched five innings against Spearfish and allowed a total of three runs, with only one earned. . Devon Grant was 4-for-6 from the leadoff spot in the batting order and had two stolen bases. Quinn Reimers was 3-for-3 with two doubles and Max Reinke had three runs batted in. The Black Sox will take part in the 3 day Black Hills Pony League Tournament that begins tomorrow in Rapid City.
