VERMILLION, S.D. – With the football season just around the corner, four University of South Dakota football student-athletes have been named to College Football Performance Awards Preseason Watch List as senior wide reciever Will Powell and punter Cole Zwiefelhofer along with junior linebacker Tyler Starr and kicker Kevin Robb were named to their respective position lists. Powell enters his senior year ranked sixth all-time in reception yards with 1,896 and is sixth in pass receptions with 103 at the wide receiver position. Starr had a monstrous sophomore season in 2011 on the defensive line for the Coyotes. He led the team and the Great West Conference with 14 sacks for 96 yards, while ranking in the top 10 nationally in sacks. Robb put his mark on the Coyote record books as a sophomore last season as he earned first team all-conference as he connected on 17 of 20 field goals tying the school record for made field goals in a season with Adam Hicks. And Zwiefelhofer earned Great West Special Teams Player of the Year honors and earned philsteele.com second team all-America honors, while owning the school record for career punt average at 42.8 yards.
