PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre 15-16 Green Sox Teener baseball team lost their first league contest of the season and just their 3rd game of the season yesterday as Brandon Valley defeated the Green Sox 5-3. Bo Atkins took the loss on the mound for Pierre pitching all 7 innings of the game allowing 7 hits on the day. Alec Norwick, Ben Leidholt and Isaac Grode each had two hits in the loss for the Green Sox. The Green Sox will return to action tomorrow when they travel to Sioux Falls to face Sioux Falls West and East in a triangular at the Harmonden Complex.
Brandon Valley completed a doubleheader sweep of Pierre’s two 15-16 Teener teams yesterday at Hyde Stadium with a 11-8 win over the Pierre White Sox, handing the Pierre squad another loss in South Dakota VFW 15-16 Teener league play. Justin Berheim had a pair of hits and RBI’s for the White Sox who host Mitchell in their next doubleheader Monday at Hyde Stadium.
Miller came to Hyde Stadium last night and downed the Pierre 13-14 Blue Sox Teener baseball team 25-12. Miller scored 9 runs in the 4th inning to put the game out of reach as the visitors won the game on the 10 run rule. The Blue Sox travel to Highmore for a doubleheader on Monday for their next action.
