MITCHELL, S.D. – The Pierre Green Sox 15-16 Teener baseball team continued to roll along during this regular season with a doubleheader sweep of Mitchell yesterday at Mitchell. The Green Sox won both games by scores of 14-1 and 8-2 to remain unbeaten in the state VFW league standings atop the remainder of the state. The Green Sox play a pair of games this weekend a in the Koester Memorial Tournament in Pierre. They will face Chamberlain tomorrow afternoon at Mandan, N.D. on Sunday. Meanwhile The Pierre 15-16 White Sox Teener Baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Huron last night at Hyde Stadium. Pierre dropped the opening contest 14-4 and then fell in the second game 11-10. The first game counted in the state VFW league standings. Paul Creamer of Huron hit an inside the park home run in the opener to lead the guest to the 10 run victory. The White Sox led the nightcap untilt he 6th inning when Huron broke through to take the lead for good. Pierre takes the weekend off before they return to the field on Monday Afternoon when they host Brandon Valley in a doubleheader.
