Pierre Man Admits to One Count of ID Theft

Card in ATM Machine

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Pierre man pled guilty to one count after being indicted for Identity Theft. 25-year-old Joshua Link was arrested by Pierre Police in June for withdrawing money from a local ATM using a Temporary Cash Assistance for Needy Families card that was reported stolen in May. The TANF card was from the State of Missouri. In court yesterday, Link admitted to one count of ID Theft and a second ID Theft count will be dismissed. His lawyer told Judge John Brown that someone gave Link the TANF card, and that he did not own it. Link will be sentenced on August 21, when he could receive a punishment of two years in prison, a $4,000 fine or both.
