Post 8 Legion Baseball Team Reaches the .500 Mark

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion Baseball team finally got their record to the .500 mark with a 9-6 win over the Rapid City Post 320 Shooting Stars during the opening day of the Black Hills Classic Baseball tournamet hosted by Rapid City Post 320 yesterday.  Nobody stood out offensivly for Post 8 but Mac Mercer did a nice job on the mount proving 6 innings and allowing 5 earned runs.  Post 8 used walks, hit batsman and timely hitting to their advantage to improve their season record to 15-15.  Post 8 has two games today at the tournament.  They face Williston, North Dakota in a game scheduled for 4 pm central time and then take on Loveland, Colorado at 6:30 pm central time.  The Dakota Radio Group will have live coverage of both games today from Rapid City on the DRG website www.drgnews.com.  After you log onto the website, click on Listen Live and then click on KGFX-AM.  Brian Oakland will be providing the coverage from the tournament beginning approximatly 10 minutes before the start of the first game.
