PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A ribbon cutting ceremony took place at the new location for a long-time Pierre car dealership Tuesday. The grand opening was held for Beck Motor Company, which has been serving the Pierre area for more than 40 years. The Beck family announced last year that it would sell its building at 500 South Grant and construct a new location along North Garfield Avenue. Employees have worked in recent weeks to transition to the new 57,000 square foot structure and a ribbon cutting was held there Tuesday. Trace Beck, who runs the business with his brother Steve, says he has been impressed at how much support the dealership has received over the past year in making the move to a brand new building.
Beck says the new location includes several charges and improvements over the old building the dealership had occupied since the early 1970’s.
Steve Beck says people will find several customer friendly features at the new building, like drive-in service entrances.
Beck says there are a few minor details yet to finish; and says he’s been impressed with the contractor that constructed the new dealership.
Beck Motor Company was established by Ken Beck in 1969. With the move to the new building, Beck’s has added five new positions and is hiring more sales associates and service technicians. More information on the business is available at www.beck-motors.com
