PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Lower Brule man pled guilty in federal court to one count of an indictment that charged him with Third Degree Burglary. U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 25-year-old Tyler Walters appeared before U.S. District Judge Roberto Lange last week and entered the guilty plea. Walters and another person broke into a store in Lower Brule on July 17 of last year by breaking a window and pulling back the mesh screen. Once in the store, several items were stolen-adding up to more than $3,000. Officials identified Walters and the other person involved in the crime when law enforcers viewed surveillance tapes from the incident. Walters will be sentenced on September 10 and could receive a maximum sentence of ten years, a $250,000 fine or both.
