Wakpala Man Pleads Guilty To Sexual Assault

Mobridge, S.D.  (DRG News) United States Attorney Brandan Johnson announced that 53 year old Wakpala resident Lyle Baker appeared before a US District Judge on June 20th, 2012 and plead guilty to an indictment that charged him with Sexual Abuse. The conviction came from an incident in May 2011 in which Baker assaulted a young woman in Wakpala. The Maximum penalty upon conviction is life in prison and a $250,000 fine. A presentence investigation has been ordered and a sentencing date for Baker has been set for September 17, 2012.
