PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The South Dakota Beef Industry Council directors will meet this week in Fort Pierre. During the Thursday afternoon meeting, council directors will get the final results of the Producer Input Survey; along with reports from the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, the Operating Committee and an update on the recent New York Beef Farm Tours-which were attended by some SDBIC officials. Before the meeting, directors will take part in a BBQ Bootcamp, put on by South Dakota State University Extension. Beef producers are invited to attend the quarterly business meeting, which starts at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center in Fort Pierre. The Beef Industry Council administers and collects the $1.00 beef checkoff on cattle sold in the state. Checkoff money is used to promote beef and for education or research programs.
