Pierre Green Sox beat Post 22 Bullets Twice

PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre 15-16 Green Sox Teener baseball team swept a doubleheader last night from Rapid City Post 22 Bullets.  The Green Sox shutout the Bullets twice by scores of 7-0 and 9-0.  Cooper Walton threw a complete game 1 hitter in the opener striking out 11.  Ben Liedholt went 3 for 3 and Alex Gray was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s for the Green Sox to lead the offense.  In the nightcap, Graham Protexter and Bo Atkins combined on a two hitter on the mound while Gray and Shay Reinke each had 2 hits to lead the offense.  The Green Sox are off until Saturday and Sunday when they host the Kris Stephans Memorial Baseball Tournament along with the Pierre 15-16 White Sox Teener team.

The Pierre White Sox 15-16 Teener Baseball team is in action at Hyde Stadium tonight.  The White Sox host Aberdeen in a State VFW 15/16 League contest. The league game of the doubleheader starts at 5:30 p.m. at Hyde Stadium, followed by the development game. The White Sox, which are made up of 15 year olds,  are coming off an  4-3 exhibition win Sunday evening over the Pierre Black Sox Teener 13-14 squad which is made up of 14 year old players.
