Eagle Butte Man Pleads Guilty to Two Assaults on Two Victims



PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) An Eagle Butte man pled guilty in federal court to two assaults on two separate victims. 32-year-old Jeremy Dupris of Eagle Butte appeared in court last week in Pierre and entered a guilty plea to two indictments that charged him with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. Officials charged Dupris with assaults on two different victims. The first occurred in August of 2010 when Dupris assaulted a man near Cherry Creek. The second was reported in May of 2011 in Cherry Creek when Dupris rammed a vehicle he was driving into a van in which another person was riding. Dupris will be sentenced on September 13 and could receive10 years-with a maximum term of 20 years in custody; a $250,000 fine or both.
