Camper Damaged in Collision with Train Bridge Friday

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A camper was damaged on Friday when it collided with the train bridge on Pierre Street. Pierre Police Captain Elton Blemaster says the accident was reported about 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Train Viaduct. A Northville, South Dakota man was driving a pickup which pulled a camper when an air conditioning unit on the camper hit the bridge. Blemaster says the bridge was not damaged, but the unit sustained $800 damage. The 72-year-old driver was not cited in the incident.
