Redfield Grad Does Not Qualify for Olympics

 BEAVERTON, Ore. – Redfield High graduate Aubry Baxter finished eighth in the women’s hammer throw at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Beaverton, Ore. The former Black Hills State thrower finished with a mark of 225-feet, 7-inches.   Amber Campbell and Amanda Bingson tied for the best throw in the event with tosses of 235-6. The top three marks in each event qualify for the U.S. Track and Field team for the 2012 Olympic Games  in London.  Baxter entered the competition with the fourth-best qualifying mark in the event with a throw of around 232-7. Despite not making the Olympics this time, Baxter will try again in 2016 for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
