WAGNER, S.D. (AP) – The vice chairwoman and five other members of the Yankton Sioux Tribe’s business committee have been suspended without pay for 30 days for alleged misconduct.   Tribal Chairman Thurman Cournoyer Sr. tells The Daily Republic that the committee members are accused of canceling a tribal council meeting in an attempt to prevent friends and relatives from being fired from a tribal casino. He says their fate will be decided later.   Telephone listings for committee Vice Chairwoman Ida Ashes and committee member Nick Cournoyer aren’t in service. The Associated Press could not immediately find listings for committee members Jason Cooke and Gail Hubbeling. The other two suspended committee members are Jody Zephier and Brenda Zephier. Listings for some Zephier families in Wagner are not in service, and calls to others rang unanswered.
