WATEROWN, S.D. (DRG) – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion Baseball team ended a 3 game losing streak with a 7-6 win the nightcap of a doubleheader at Watertown on Friday. Watertown won the opener 6-2. Drew Leif took the loss for Post 8 in the opener allowing 8 hits. In the nightcap, Pierre used 3 pitchers as they scored 4 runs in the 4th inning and added 3 more in the 6th. Pierre threw out a Watertown runner at home plate in the bottom of the 7th to preserve the victory. Mac Mercer came into the game in the 5th as the 3rd Pierre pitcher and picked up his second win of the season. Pierre improved to 7 and 15 with the split as they travel to Huron for a Monday doubleheader.
