RAPID CITY, S.D. – Joe Ferras will be guiding the Rapid City Rush for at least another three Central Hockey League seasons. The Rush announced on Friday the extension of Ferras’ contract as head coach through the 2014-15 season. Ferras is among the winningest coaches in CHL history and has guided the Rush to the second-most wins in the league over the past three seasons, including the 2010 Ray Miron President’s Cup championship. Since mentoring a young team to a 22-33-9 mark during Rapid City’s inaugural CHL season in 2008-2009, Ferras has guided the Rush to a 121-58-17 record, a .661 win percentage and three straight playoff appearances. The 2012-13 season will be Ferras’ 10th as a head coach in the CHL, where he has compiled a 304-223-49 record for a .570 win percentage.
