Teen Detained After Police Called to Report of an Intruder in Pierre Residence

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Pierre teen was detained Wednesday morning after police were called to the report that an intruder was in a Pierre residence. Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Flag Mountain Drive around 6:10 a.m. Wednesday morning. Police Captain Elton Blemaster says that when officers arrived on scene, they detained a 17-year-old juvenile male from Pierre for several charges, including: 1st Degree Rape-Victim Under 13, 1st Degree Kidnapping, 1st Degree Burglary, Ingesting and Underage Consumption of Alcohol A weapon was not involved in the crimes. Blemaster says the teen is being held at the Hughes County Juvenile Shelter Facility and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
