State Drag Racing Championships Determined at Oahe Speedway

PIERRE, S.D. – The second Coca Cola Points Series Races and the South Dakota State Drag Racing Championships highlighted the weekend of racing at Oahe Speedway North of Pierre last Saturday.  Dale Garber of Pierre overtook Rick Meier of Rapid City to win the Super Pro Race on Saturday to win the State Championship.  Todd Herman, of Presho, took the Pro title and the Pro State Championship in the final against Rod Larson, of Pierre.  Chris Boom of Pierre defeated Charles Snyder of Selfridge, North Dakota to to take the Bike Series points race and the State Championship.  Jay Tjeerdsma of Springfield captured the Sportsman Class Series Race be defeating Ashley Holm of Pierre in the Finals.  Alan Vetter of Gettysburg downed another Gettysburg racer, Duane Soper, in the Street Trophy finals race.  Ashley Holm did win the High School Class Race downing Jason Carroll of Pierre in the finals.  In the Junior Major Finals race, Kimberlee Guether defeated Kendra Kimball in the finals.  In the Junior Minor Finals race Hunter Monson of Groton defeated Becki Fuchs of Bowman, North Dakota in the finals race and Monson also won the Junior Dragster Race as he defeated Guether in the finals race.  Sturgis Dragway will host the 2013 State Championships with the series returning to Oahe Speedway in 2014.
