SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Sioux Falls Pheasants put the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the ninth inning but came up on the short end of a 7-5 loss to the St. Paul Saints on Sunday afternoon. The Saints won the rubber game to take the series from the Pheasants before 5,014 fans at Midway Stadium. Christian Guerrero led the Pheasants’ offense, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBI and a triple shy of the cycle. Pete Gehle suffered his second loss, allowing seven runs on nine hits. He walked two and struck out one. Chris Odegaard earned his first win for St. Paul, holding the Pheasants to four runs on nine hits in 7 2/3 innings. The Pheasants begin a three game, home-and-away series with the Sioux City Explorers tonight preceded by the resumption of a suspended May 19 game. The suspended game will resume at 6:05 p.m., followed by a seven-inning game in Sioux Falls.
