PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) KGFX held its first Hometown Tour on Wednesday, kicking off the 2012 series of visits in the KGFX listening area in Pierre at Prairie Pages Bookseller. Dorene Foster moderated the hour long program, which featured guests that included Brad Curtis of the Oahe Days 2012 Committee, Pierre Parks and Recreation Director Tom Farnsworth, Rick Jensen of the Historic Pierre Street Association and the Trail of Governors Project, Karen Kern of the South Dakota Great Lakes Tourism Association and Charlene Lund of the American Cancer Society in Pierre. It should be another great summer of trips across KGFX-Country, as the Dakota Cruiser will take Dorene and KGFX News Director Jeri Thomas to several communities in central and western South Dakota. Our next stop is Wednesday, June 13 in Philip, when we’re on the road and will be hosted by First National Bank and First National Agency. Join us on KGFX as Dorene talks with guests about the upcoming Festival Days, the fundraiser for the Gem Theatre, Philip Health Services Student Community Projects and an update from new Mayor Mike Vetter! The program starts at 8:05 a.m. Mountain/9:05 a.m. Central Wednesday!
