PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Historic preservation projects in Faith and five other communities are being funded through grants from the South Dakota State Historical Society. Jay D. Vogt, Director of the Society, says this is the 15th year for the preservation grants program; which is set up to encourage restoration or rehabilitation of historic properties. The Minneapolis Brewing Company Warehouse in Faith was provided with $9,000 for repair of the roof, windows and openings, interior wood, and the foundation; among other work to be done on the structure. Other projects in Dell Rapids, Esmond, Huron, Sisseton and Yankton also received grant money. Deadwood Fund grants are given out twice a year with grant application deadlines of February 1 and October 1.
