PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The Pierre City Water Department will be replacing water main today through Thursday in a central Pierre neighborhood that experienced a water main break last month. Workers will be at the intersection of Broadway and Van Buren Avenues today and tomorrow and then will move to the east toward Harrison Avenue for work scheduled the rest of the week. Dane Brewer, Water Superintendent for Pierre, says water will be off from 8-5 p.m. on Van Buren Avenue from Summit to Broadway Avenues today and on Van Buren from Broadway to Cabot tomorrow. In addition, water will be off from 8-5 on Broadway from Van Buren to Harrison today through Thursday. Brewer says some households in the area of the project could experience lower water pressure until the project is complete and he says motorists should note that the area remains closed to traffic.
