WALL, S.D. – The Wall Regional High School Rodeo was held over the weekend in Wall. Sturgis won the team title with a 495.5 score and Kristi Steffe of Sturgis was named the All Around Cowgirl after scoring 109 points. Edgemont Cowboy Treg Schaak earned All Around Cowboy honors with a score of 63 points. Other winners on the day included Carson Johnson and Karlee Petersen taking the Rookie Cowboy and Cowgirl honors. Mark Shorb of Custer and Bailey Hapney of Wall were the Hard Luck Cowboy and Cowgirl of the Rodeo. The Wall Rodeo was one of four regional rodeos held around South Dakota this past weekend. Regional rodeos at Sturgis, Dupree, Ft. Pierre, and Watertown will be held next weekend. Contestants who accumulate 3 or more go-around points in an event at these regional rodeos qualify for the South Dakota State Finals High School Rodeo held in Belle Fourche, SD on June 20-24.
