VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) – The University of South Dakota has named Amy Williams as the new head coach for the women’s basketball team. USD has been without a permanent head coach since Ryun Williams left May 21 to take a head coaching job at Colorado State. At a press conference announcing the hire, Amy Williams said she was excited to be a part of the Coyotes. Williams is a native of Spearfish, S.D. Williams was previously the head coach at Rogers State University in Oklahoma. Before that, she was an assistant and recruiting coordinator at The University of Tulsa and Oklahoma State University. University of South Dakota athletic director David Sayler says William’s previous Division I and head coaching experience set her apart from the other candidates.
