ABERDEEN, S.D. – (DRG News) The National Weather Service says at least three central South Dakota locations set record lows yesterday. Timber Lake, Pierre and Mobridge recorded lows that were near or below the freezing mark. The low at Pierre for May 31 had been 39 degrees which was set in 1946; but that temp was broken yesterday when the thermometer dropped to 33. Record lows from 1964 in Mobridge and Timber Lake were also set aside yesterday. Mobridge’s previous low had been 38 degrees, but it fell to 32 yesterday there; and in Timber Lake, the weather service says the old record of 34 was broken by the low of 31 that was logged Thursday.
