Mobridge, S.D. – (DRGNews.com) A Safety Belt Check was conducted today at 8am in Mobridge with the help of the Mobridge Police Dept., the Walworth County Sheriff’s Dept., Campbell County Sheriff, and staff from Dakota Radio Group. The check point was positioned at the intersection of 20th st and 4th ave e. Most motorists had been wearing their seatbelt, and few didn’t but what was more shocking was the number of drivers who turned around before they reached the checkpoint. Overall 53 cars passed through the check point with a total of 74 occupants. 63 of the occupants were wearing their seatbelt and 11 were not. Violators did not receive a ticket but a pamphlet reminding them that seat belts save lives, but those who were obeying the law they received Lifesavers.
