Hoven History up for Auction

Hoven, S.D. – (DRGNews.com) Five Pieces of Hoven history will be auctioned off in hopes to raise money for a new smaller clinic this Saturday. 5 15 foot stained glass windows that once hung in the chapel of the now closed Holy Infant Hospital in Hoven, which were installed 4 years after the hospital opened in 1943, will be auctioned off at 9am this Saturday at Hoven’s American Legion Hall. Not only the windows, but hospital equipment, office furniture, commercial kitchen supplies and the building will be auctioned off. President of the board of directors of the Hoven Area Health Center said, they will take offers for the building starting at $10,000. After the Hospital closed in October of 2010 the building was rented out at $2000 a month. The city was left with a $2000 bill left over from insurance, utilities, repairs and fuel which was paid for by community donations.
