PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Next week brings the second season of weekly public tours at the South Dakota Governor’s Mansion. The tours will be conducted weekly each Wednesday in June, July and August—starting June 6. There will not be a tour the week of July 4. First Lady Linda Daugaard says this year’s tours will give participants the chance to view the paintings and sculptures of 13 South Dakota artists. She also says there is a wall of Governors’ family photos and two of the guest rooms are named in honor of former Governors Arthur Mellette and Tom Berry. The 30 minute tours are being arranged for groups of up to 30 people and will be conducted each Wednesday this summer at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Volunteers and the First Lady will lead the tours. The free tour tickets must be acquired ahead of time by contacting the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce. For more information, call 224-7361.
